By All Means a Bio - This is a Snap Shot of Being Tom McCarey

Upon a thought at the ParthenonThe first week has come and gone and I am glad to be a part of the @properties’ brokerage. Something about making a move that gets my blood moving and makes me feel a little bit more alive. It also grants me a wonderful chance to take a little of this and ditch a little of that.

I’m not going to go so far as saying that my filing system is greatly improved. But I will say that my data base just went through what effectively constitutes a “Fat Flush.” The names are right, the email addresses are accurate - why there’s even addresses and phone numbers attached.

Earlier tonight my wife and our two boys went to a friend’s place for dinner. I represented the couple in their purchase of this gorgeous East Village penthouse that closed in January. At any rate, they have an espresso machine that wielded its wicked caffeinated tentacles around me to the tune of three or four mud-filled containers that have me awake at an hour that would be considered late in the Pacific time zone let alone with a location firmly planted in Chicago real estate.

So here I am putting x’s next to one after another of my litany of tasks associated with my new gig. The latest x goes with the bio piece to be added to the Tom McCarey position at the @properties’ website. As it is hot off the press I figured I would post it here to air it out at The Real Estate Lounge . Chicago.

Lucas floats in Historic RomeHere goes…

Ask Tom’s clients and they’ll tell you that nobody works harder or knows the market better than he does, that nobody listens as carefully or advocates as effectively as he does, and nobody puts as much effort or takes the time to ensure your absolute satisfaction as he does.

Ranked among Chicago’s top realtors in each of the past five years and one of the top producers at a prominent Chicago brokerage before coming to @properties in April 2008, Tom owes his success to his clients and to his thoughtful (and aggressive) application of state of the art electronic  and web-based technologies.

With respect to his clients Tom says, “At the end of the day my job distills to this one truth – my clients tell me what they want.  I take great pride in devising and putting into action successful strategies that enable me to give them what they ask for.”

Self Portrait at the ColosseumWith an emphasis on north and northwest side neighborhoods that include Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Square, the East Village, Edgewater, Andersonville, and the Gold Coast, the strategies that Tom implements on behalf of his buying and selling clients are rooted in his encyclopedic knowledge of the marketplace and his commitment to making sure his clients know the market as well (if not better) than other realtors.

With respect to servicing the specific needs of his listing clients, Tom relies on what he calls his “Push Forward” technique. This technique relies on integrating state-of-the-art technologies such as online marketing and advertising, property-specific websites, a professional website and, most recently, his www.TheRealEstateLoungeChicago.comblog. A simple google search of “Tom McCarey” or “The Real Estate Lounge Chicago” attests to Tom’s effective use of new technologies to “push forward” his clients’ listings to the widest possible audience.

In addition Tom provides his clients with professional  marketing brochures that serve as a backdrop to the experienced and professional representation he provides.

Tom lives with his wife and two sons on Chicago’s north side (where he has lived since completing studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana). Tom works on a referral basis and welcomes the opportunity to assist you with your next real estate transaction.

On the Train in SpainMy sincere hope is that the profound degree of caffeination that I exposed myself to earlier and persists in vexing me now has not colored my vision too greatly. In other words I hope that this bio makes sense and that, if I am not already your personal realtor that I will be shortly after you read this blurb.
