Sunday Rains Supreme as the Rain Rains Down
Sunday emerges amid a cap of grayness. Ike is turning, I suppose.
A broad swath has trundled up the country’s midsection, with Chicago the next stop on the mad express of what some might term Mother Nature’s fury.
Rainy Sundays are an odd mix in a realtor’s life. Embraced by the soft sounds of rain drops kissing the surface of the city’s streets it is easy to wake and wonder just what day of the week it is. Why today is Sunday, of course. Another day in the working life of a full-time realtor.
But for a moment upon rising there is a blur as to what day it is. And what is before me.
Before me today is a slate of showings and hosting open houses. The prism today reflects my condo listings in the Lakeview neighborhood, specifically an 11-1 open house at 726 Addison sporting its new price of $419,900 and a mid afternoon showing at my vintage highrise listing at 3534 Lake Shore Drive.
Interspersed with this activity is hosting a colleague’s listing this afternoon in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood.
With the downturn earlier in the week of interest rates there’s a good chance that folks who have been sitting on the fence will show up to take a look and possibly become participants in one of the best buying markets in nearly a decade. But then again the rain might keep some folks in the comfort of their own homes, not looking at single family or condo listings of @ properties and other brokerages.
Whatever the case may be I will be on the frontline of the Chicago real estate market today representing my clients and The Real Estate Lounge Chicago, I hope admirably serving as one of the city’s best and brightest. If you have a chance, stop by 726 Addison to see for yourself.
And should you or somebody you love be in the market to either buy or sell a place in this lovely city that I, Tom McCarey, call home, don’t hesitate to call me at 773.848.9241.
