Eight Fewer Floors at 2520 Lakeview in Chicago’s Lincoln Park

My clients joke about “a little off the top” as a price lower than what they wanted. The luxury project at 2520 Lakeview in Lincoln Park has gone a step further with “a little of the top” being the removal of eight floors from the design. It adds up to one-third fewer units and a higher percentage of units now under contract.

The Real Chicago Seen as a Pedestrian

A lesson learned from international travel is to let go. In Rome letting go means taking to the “vias” as a pedestrian. We did so with gusto. And at times we bring our lessons learned abroad to our home in Chicago, walking from here to there without the pressure of a task or an errand hanging over our heads.

Inspired by a 17-year-old Sailor

17-year-old Zac Sunderland spent the last year sailing the globe alone. He wrapped up his journey last week and his story struck me – that a shaggy headed kid could achieve such a feat and that his folks raised him to do and then urged him to do it. Great lessons as I invest my heart into my two boys and stay atop the Chicago real estate market.

Mitch Aronson and Tom McCarey proudly added a few listings this week to the inventory of The Real Estate Lounge Chicago. But the work doesn’t stop when the listing comes in, it just begins. Beating the drumbeat of online promotion Tom seeds pictures and text to myriad online sources to draw the attention of the online consumer. The means include websites, powerpoint pdfs, four-color html devices and craigslist all to establish awareness and lead to transaction.

An Early Morning Rain and Rescuing Damp Patio Furniture

Dark? Yes. But frantically rumbling thunder and buckets of rain managed to wrest me from my slumbering mood and urged me to retrieve the now soaking patio furniture. Note to self, next time plan ahead and put it away. But such admonitions do nothing now that I am awake and making a bee-line into the rest of my day amid the Chicago real estate market.
