Will January Beget a Warm Spring Real Estate Market in Chicago?

What does Chicago’s spring real estate market hold? Historically January is robust though the last three years have been slow. And this year? There’s plenty of pent up deman and inventory as well. The question is whether lenders will perform their role and lend or if they will continue to stand on the sideline with their hands in their pockets. Let’s hope they make loans. Time will tell.


A Muddled Tale Among Sales (and not) in Chicago Real Estate

When is a deal not a deal? When one side refuses to do what they say they will do and won’t execute the contract. That’s what happened a few weeks ago when my clients reached a deal to buy a West Bucktown home and the sellers dilly dallied long enough to result in another offer that preempted ours.

Dark? Yes. But frantically rumbling thunder and buckets of rain managed to wrest me from my slumbering mood and urged me to retrieve the now soaking patio furniture. Note to self, next time plan ahead and put it away. But such admonitions do nothing now that I am awake and making a bee-line into the rest of my day amid the Chicago real estate market.


A Handyman that Wasn’t

Being at the top of my game is an every day thing – so when I meet somebody who runs their own company and they don’t have the same zealous service-oriented philosophy I do, I am shocked. After all, there’s a recession going on and anybody that doesn’t do everything they can to keep business will lose it!
