There are No Accidents – Chicago’s Plummeting Hotel Condo Market
Synchronicity? Things that are seemingly unrelated but upon further review are related and add up to some type of meaning. I thought of synchronicity when I read Monday that Chicago’s Elysian project is ripping up the contracts on 130 condo hotels, sending them to wander an Elysian Field of their own. Looks like what was touted as a great idea a few short years back really isn’t.
Online Safety Whether at Home in Chicago or on the Road
Trolls will always seek their gain at your expense. Which is why it’s important to exercise discretion wherever trolls gather – like the online campfire of your facebook and twitter accounts. Like living in the city where personal safety is enhanced by informed behaviors, the same is true when making posts at your social accounts.
Eight Fewer Floors at 2520 Lakeview in Chicago’s Lincoln Park
My clients joke about “a little off the top” as a price lower than what they wanted. The luxury project at 2520 Lakeview in Lincoln Park has gone a step further with “a little of the top” being the removal of eight floors from the design. It adds up to one-third fewer units and a higher percentage of units now under contract.
A Democracy’s Strength is Derived From Each of Us
A Nike commercial from a few years back asked “Where do you want to go today?” As I await tomorrow’s momentous presidential election I want big and small things, but much of what I want distills through the concept and reality of decency. My father-in-law did a very decent thing today as he arrived in Greeley, Colorado to serve as a Democratic poll watcher to make sure that folks who should be able to vote are able to vote. I want things like this to be witnessed by my children and by my neighbors. And I want us all to know that we have the ability to do it. That, after all, was the gist of the Nike ad, right? One lit match chases the darkness of night.
Striking Gold in Chicago’s Gold Coast Real Estate
A neighbor walked on eggshells at the park today thinking all was gloom and doom in the Chicago real estate market. Certainly we are experiencing tumult, but my buying clients are aggressively looking in areas like Chicago’s Gold Coast.
