My mom Colette McCarey was a real Chicago landmark. She introduced me to the city’s culture, its museums, its lakefront and its beauty. She died a week ago Monday, and I bid her a peaceful journey and mark her passing with a few remembrances.

A lesson learned from international travel is to let go. In Rome letting go means taking to the “vias” as a pedestrian. We did so with gusto. A Sunday Stroll Before a Chicago Open House
Hallelujah! The congregation chimed together, lifting their voices at St. Gertrude’s as Jackson, Lucas and I took a spin around the block this morning. And so we came home and took a spin around the versions of the same song from Shrek. Nice! Good way to preface my hosting a single family open house.
