a metaphor of self . constructing me starts early and never ends
subjective is the nature of life. so as children our songs are imbued at some point with words that suggest our grandeur. and we move forward tending the metaphor of self, grooming it and growing it. so are my thoughts on a second straight nice day in chicago thinking about my three year old’s song from the backseat yesterday.
from the morning’s darkness a voice emerged
Amid the early morning dark a single voice emerged from the darkness, a spring-boding bird whistling its plaintive song for my ears to hear, helping me to chart my course of hope toward the arrival of warmth and green. Now mixing metaphors and the like from Casablanca and Disney I go to the rest of the day imitating the feathered friend, whistling as I work.
